July 2009 – Melody Club

MelodyClubsignNot since the early ‘90s has a singular and definitive sound taken rock music by storm. Following the demise of Seattle grunge, rock has drifted about, meandering in search of a unique, bold direction. Now into this void steps Melody Club, a new band from Sweden ready to chart the future course of rock ‘n roll. An alt rock band with pop rock sensibilities, Melody Club is set to release their U.S. debut, ‘At Your Service’, 12 tracks of danceable, punk-tinged new wave that’s at once sophisticated and accessible to the uninitiated. http://www.merchworld.eu/melodyclub

May/June 2009 – Scott Kroeker

scott_kroeker1Wouldn’t it be great to escape and let your mind drift into a peaceful break. Canadian instrumentalist guitarist, Scott Kroeker ‘s, music can take your mind into that relax-full journey with his 2006 album, ‘Fata Morgana’.

Kroeker definitely has the powerful melodies and grooves happening, each track travels down deep into your soul; without lyrics the melody are more intensified; truly feeling each melody and its story. http://www.scottkroeker.com

April 2009 – April Divine

april_divine4091Created in 1998 as Starf*ck in Örnskoldsvik, Sweden, four friends being to start something that would continue to build throughout the years. Blending a diversity of grunge, metal, punk and pop with funk, the band soon became the buzz of their home country. After a band name change to April Divine, the band is ready to spread their style to the US; they have already recorded their second album stateside soon to be announced. http://www.trig.com/aprildivine

March 2009 – Moebio

Moebio
moebio-nueva-formacionA few weeks ago a Rock band from Madrid, Moebio, requested a listen to their music. To say the least, I was mesmerized by their intense sound, power-hitting to the deepest of the soul guitars and smooth, straight-forward idealistic vocals from the lead, Hector Geronimo. My head simultaneously started swaying instantly the music began. Basically, Moebio’s music you can feel and see every lyric. Check them out. http://www.moebioweb.com and watch some of their videos on http://www.youtube.com/moebio.

February 2009 – Varekai

Varekai
Some may say this band has missed the alternative mission but a lot of them will say they are right on time. Music is music whatever fills the heart with a refreshing sense, play it anyway and play it on the high side. Straight from Baltimore, (one of my favourite places to be) the band, Varekai, will alternatively rock you and that’s all that needs to be said; check them out and clank up the volume. http://trig.com/varekai

January 2009 – Tribal Machine

Tribal Machine
tm-orwellian_banner Influenced by bands such as Dead Can Dance, Nine Inch Nails, and Marilyn Manson; Tribal Machine music is a classic story waiting to happen. This Canadian Industrial Metal band takes its sound from the framework of a traditional industrial band and infuses it with elements of classic rock, European folk, and a dash of Middle-Eastern chant. http://www.tribalmachine.com

December 2008 – Russell Stafford

Russell Stafford
rstafford4

Hailing from Portland Oregon, this acoustic/singer/songwriter has a powerful groove going on, his music will rock you out of your head. Stafford released his much awaited follow-up album to Freshwater, Between You & I. Determined not to do the typical mainstream of acoustic rock thing, Stafford with his band turns things on its head and nails it every time; Stafford and his band is one of the Acoustic Anthem band of the 21st century in my books. http://www.russellstaffordmusic.com

November 2008 – L-60°

L-60°

l-60

It’s been 7 long years for L-60°, tons of great opportunities, loud guitars, sweat, smiles, cries …the whole drama of being in a rock band. The new album is under works and ready to be released…. so the journey still continues from latitude 60 degrees to all the way to you… the paths are open to new directions and the band is getting hungry again to prove it’s skills and reason for it’s existence. Markus, Ville, Olli and Tommi are still playing their MUSIC THAT MOVES YOUR BODY AND HEALS YOUR SOUL!
